Grilled Tuna Steak – Recipe of the Week

A grilled tuna steak provides a fresh alternative to traditional beef steak and is a way to add some delicious lean protein into your diet. Here we show you how to make this dish – complete with a simple side salad to add balance and welcome greenery to your plate. You can source tuna steaks from many butchers and fish counters today as it has become a popular protein option!

Recipe Ingredients List

  • Tuna Steak (one)
  • Lettuce Leaves (handful)
  • Cherry Tomatoes (handful)
  • Lemon (one)
  • Balsamic Vinegar (to garnish)
  • Olive Oil (to garnish)

Step 1
Brush a light layer of olive oil onto the grill and let the grill warm up to a medium heat. Brush a light layer of olive oil on both sides of the tuna steak too and season both sides with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 2
Place the tuna steak onto the grill and allow it to cook on one side for between four to five minutes. While this is grilling, wash the lettuce leaves and cherry tomatoes and dry them with a paper towel / kitchen roll.

Step 3
Turn the tuna steak over to cook it through on the other side for a further four to five minutes. While it is cooking, chop up the lettuce leaves and tomatoes and toss them together with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.

Step 4
Remove the grilled tuna steak and place it on a plate with the side salad. If you want, you can cut a lemon in half and squeeze it over the tuna steak (and the side salad), while also drizzling balsamic vinegar over the dish too if you wish.
