Chocolate Hazelnut Smoothie – Recipe of the Week

Recipes do not always have to be for solid food as liquid drinks can also be very beneficial for helping you reach your fitness and nutrition goals. This delicious chocolate hazelnut smoothie combines fruits, seeds, nuts (and some all-important chocolate) for a recipe packed with a boost of health benefits without sacrificing on taste.

Recipe Ingredients List

  • Unsweetened Almond Milk (200ml)
  • Greek Yoghurt (30g) or Lactose-Free Yoghurt (if required)
  • Frozen Banana (60g)
  • Chia Seeds (5g)
  • Hazelnuts (12g)
  • Cocoa Powder (two teaspoons)
  • Honey (one teaspoon)

With all of the above ingredients measured out, you simply need to add them all to a blender and blend them until they result in a smooth liquid. It really couldn’t be simpler to make this chocolate hazelnut smoothie and it really couldn’t be tastier! This is a great smoothie to refuel after a workout, class and / or swim at Westpark Fitness. If you opt to use Greek yoghurt as part of it, the smoothie will have some protein to help with recovery while the natural sugar in the honey can keep your energy levels topped up. With the banana, nuts and seeds included too, it is a great way to incorporate traditionally healthy foods into your daily diet.
