Zak Moradi

Originally from Iraq, Zak Moradi moved to Ireland in 2002 and initially lived in Carrick-on-Shannon. He has been living in Tallaght since 2004. Zak plays senior intercounty hurling for Leitrim. He was first invited onto the Leitrim senior panel at the age of eighteen. In 2019, he scored a vital point and provided the pass for the decisive goal in extra-time to help Leitrim win the Lory Meagher Cup final for the first time. Back in 2012, Zak was selected for the Ireland U21 shinty squad and in 2016 he was selected on the Lory Meagher Cup Champions (All-Star) Team after scoring in every one of Leitrim’s championship games. In 2017, he won the Dublin Intermediate Hurling Championship with Thomas Davis. Zak also coaches under 14 and under 11 hurling teams. He is an active playing member of Thomas Davis GAA Club and plays hurling for the club in the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship.  As a club and intercounty senior hurler, he is regularly in the gym.
