Walnut Protein Smoothie – Recipe of the Week
The vivid green colour of this smoothie signals the healthy benefits within it. A nutritional boost for your diet and body, this walnut protein smoothie also contains a scoop of protein powder to help you maintain and build lean muscle mass. Walnut Protein Smoothie
Recipe Ingredients List
• Banana (one)
• Apple (half)
• Avocado (half)
• Walnuts (90g)
• Spinach (20g)
• Protein Powder (one scoop)
• Coconut Oil (one tablespoon)
• Strawberries (optional)
Cut up the banana, the apple, the avocado and the spinach leaves into smaller chunks so that they are easier to blend together.
To help the walnuts to blend easier too, seal them in a food bag and then crush them with the likes of a rolling pin or meat tenderiser.
Add all of the above ingredients together into a blender and blend them along with a scoop of protein powder (unflavoured or vanilla flavoured are among the best options here) and the tablespoon of coconut oil.
You may wish to chop up some strawberries and add them to the smoothie before drinking – simply to add some sweetness to the mix.
