Top Tips for Beginners

So you have taken some of your valuable time to dedicate to the gym. This is one of the best steps you will make to achieving a healthier, fitter and happier you. When you step through the doors of the gym it may feel a bit daunting at first but take all that energy inside you and make something positive out of it. Here is a list of some of the best tips for beginners to ensure a highly enjoyable and very rewarding lifelong journey.

1: You are not alone!

If you think that you are the only person in the gym with no background in sports or exercise or think that you are the only beginner, then rest assured that you are in the same boat as so many members. You are not expected to learn everything overnight so relax and enjoy your time at the gym.

2: Think positive.

You are doing this in order to achieve the many positive rewards that come from being a gym member such as better fitness level, fat loss, muscle building, adding to your list of friends and simply enjoying the feeling of exercising.  Every time you go to the gym think of all the positive things and remember that is why you are going.

3: Keep it simple!

You may have seen a million videos online of different exercises and are not sure what works or even how to do any of what you have just seen. Don’t worry about not knowing what works. Leave this to the professionals (our highly qualified fitness team). Anyone of our trainers will be more than happy to work with you and set goals and show you how to get results while working at a pace that is suitable for you.

4 Classes

Gym goers that take part in classes alongside their own workouts get a lot more out of their gym experience from meeting new people in the same boat as themselves to learning a wealth of information on how to train with correct and safe technique. Classes are for all, from beginners to advanced, so book a class right away.

5: Safe exercise

Safety while training is of the uppermost importance as we wish your journey to the gym to be a happy and injury free one. If you are unsure on the technique of any particular exercise then please do not hesitate in asking one of our trainers on the correct and safe way to execute it. That is if a trainer has not already come over to you and communicated to you politely on how to correct your technique,

 6: Orientations

One to one personal session with our trainers are highly recommended. We will go through a training plan that will be completely at your pace and will get you the results that you came for. Your trainer will also go through an appropriate warm up to get your muscles ready for exercise and also a cool down and some stretching afterwards. As reception for details.
